histoCON Community Workshop: Reshaping Remembrance
January 27 is International Holocaust Remembrance Day. histoCON would like to take this day as an opportunity to invite all interested parties to engage with forms of remembrance and commemoration in a Zoom workshop from 14 to 15:30 CET.
In a time in which there are fewer and fewer eyewitnesses of the Holocaust and at the same time, due to the new media, numerous new formats of remembrance are emerging, histoCON would like to deal with these questions.
In the first part of the workshop, four practitioners will present their remembrance projects. Our guests are:
Samuel Churchill, photographer for the project "March of the Living", United Kingdom.
Eva Hasel, Voids: Using augmented reality to tell the story of lost Jewish places in European cities, Germany
Fumiko Ishioka, Tokyo Holocaust Education Resource Center, Japan
Marlene Wöckinger, Presenter of the TikTok Account of the Mauthausen Concentration Camp Memorial, Austria
In the second part, the participants will work together in groups on questions of remembrance work and consider what remembrance might look like in the future. The workshop will be facilitated by Esther Selman, an educator in Berlin and histoCON community manager.
The event will be hosted via Zoom. Upon registering you will receive a confirmation e-mail including the Zoom link.
We look forward to having you join us!
