NECE is an open transnational and diverse (non-institutionalized) association of experts and practitioners (formal, non-formal and informal education) of civic education from Europe and other regions with partner networks. It also provides a forum for equal debates and knowledge exchange via digital platforms. NECE identifies political and social trends relevant to civic education and develops ideas to put them into practice. The NECE community advocates a stronger prioritisation of citizenship education at national, European and international level.
The mission statement of NECE is Externer Link: here.
The most recent reaction of NECE to the COVID 19 pandemic and its disruptions for our societies is the Externer Link: NECE declaration: ‘2020: A watershed Year for Citizenship Education’ which is supported by major civil society networks and partners in Europe, Africa, the MENA region and Eastern Europe.
The 'Declaration' can be accessed and signed Externer Link: here.
